2020 CLIMATE ARTS AWARDS
CALL TO AWARD NOMINEES
ARTISTS * EDUCATORS * INNOVATORS
The second annual Climate Arts Awards is presented by NewArts, a registered Canadian charity “We launched this event to recognize artists, educators, innovators and young people who are creating a vision of a better world”, says David Blackmore, president of NewArts. “It’s their vision that will inspire all of us to take action.” The broad categories are designed to encourage a diverse range of concepts that may include individual eco-themed projects to organizational initiatives that could include, visual arts, music, spoken word, fashion, theatre, digital arts, educational programs for schools or afterschool programs, technology startups, science and engineering projects at any stage of development.

Some of the most creative concepts in arts and design, methods of education, technologies, and other innovations that explore new ways that humans can interact with the planet and embrace both the immensity of the problem and the opportunities presented by climate change will be on display.

The daylong event features dozens of exhibitors, a school field day that lets children interact with the imaginative exhibits, a connectors room where donors, investors and education institutions can meet privately with exhibitors for mutual benefit. Over 2,500 people are expected to flow through the exhibits throughout the day.

The show will be hosted by award-winning Canadian comedienne and actor Luba Goy of CBC's Air Farce, Arthur Potts, former parliamentary assistant to Ontario's Minister of the Environment and Climate Change and other well known Canadian celebrities whom we are currently approaching to participate in various capacities.

Awards candidates/exhibitors are invited to register for the 2020 Climate Arts Awards. There will be 24 awards in 4 categories: arts, education, youth and innovation (technology/science/engineering). If selected recipients will be invited to exhibit and display their art projects, programs, products and services throughout the day at no cost (table, chairs, and electricity provided), attend a special reception (2 free tickets) and awards show where a special certificate will be presented by dignitaries (TBA) and a presentation/performance/video spot will be provided (max 3 minutes). The deadline for submissions is March 31st. Successful candidates will be notified by email with an information package no later than April 14th, 2020.

LOCATION
The Metro Toronto Hall Rotunda is an architectural jewel located at 55 John St. in the centre of Toronto’s entertainment district and connected to the TTC. The Rotunda (500 capacity) provides a unique opportunity for sponsors to be featured prominently, as we marry promotion activities in our extensive campaign with on-site promotions. The event takes place during the last week of school when major events and conventions are taking place nearby like Collision Tech Conference and others.
